James A. Fountain, MD, is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology with over 25 years of experience and many articles published and presentations delivered in his field.

Dr. Fountain received a B.A. from Kalamazoo College before achieving his M.D. from the University of Michigan. He completed his post-graduate training with an internship at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, a residency in Ophthalmology at Indiana University School of Medicine, and a fellowship in Vitreoretinal Diseases and Surgery at Indiana University School of Medicine

He served in the United States Air Force for two years with service at Clark Air Base in the Philippines.
